For a re-roof project, the existing roof covering is carefully removed to expose the existing decking. The existing decking is carefully examined and the rotten and/or leaking areas are replaced and “patched” in alliance with FL state Roofing Code and guidelines. The second step would be to install an underlayment, also known as ice and water shield. A residential re-roof project entails 2 main types of underlayments: we use various brands and widely used: shingle underlayment, referred to as low temperature underlayment and various popular and widely used metal and tile underlayment, referred to as high temperature underlayment.
